Mayas de Yucatan & Chiapas

Day 1: Arrival in Cancun and private transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay. (Check out our private transfers available at www.viajeslibero.com.)

Day 2: Breakfast. Meet your local guide and depart for Chichén Itzá, one of the most important archaeological sites in Mexico and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. During the visit, you will discover the Pyramid of Kukulkán, the Ball Court, and other remnants of the Mayan civilization. Lunch. Continue the tour to Mérida, the capital of Yucatán, known for its colonial architecture and vibrant atmosphere. Enjoy a City Tour of the historic center, visiting places like the Main Square, Mérida Cathedral, and the Government Palace. Overnight in Mérida.

Day 3:

Breakfast. Departure to Uxmal, another impressive Mayan archaeological site, famous for its pyramids and Puuc architecture, such as the Pyramid of the Magician and the Nunnery Quadrangle. Lunch. Stop at Becán and visit a Pijijapa hat workshop. Continue to Campeche, a colonial city surrounded by defensive walls. Take a City Tour of the historic center, visiting the Campeche Cathedral and the boardwalk. Overnight in Campeche.

Day 4:

Breakfast. Departure to Palenque, an important Mayan archaeological site known for its Temple of the Inscriptions and the Palace. Lunch on the way. Arrival in Palenque in the afternoon and a guided tour of the archaeological site, surrounded by jungle. Overnight in Palenque.

Day 5:

Breakfast. Departure to the Agua Azul Waterfalls, famous for their crystal-clear waters and multiple waterfalls in the jungle. Arrive in Chiapa de Corzo in the afternoon, a picturesque village in Chiapas. Overnight in Chiapa de Corzo.

Day 6:

Breakfast. Take a boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, an impressive canyon with vertical walls and rich biodiversity. Continue the trip to San Cristóbal de las Casas, a picturesque town with cobblestone streets and rich cultural heritage. Lunch. Overnight in San Cristóbal de las Casas.

Day 7:

• Breakfast. Depart to visit the local market in San Cristóbal and the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán, where you can learn about the customs and traditions of these Tzotzil villages.

• Lunch. Continue the visits to the Church of Santo Domingo and the Cathedral of San Cristóbal. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 8:

• Breakfast. Departure to Tuxtla Gutiérrez and flight from Tuxtla to Cancun. Arrival in Cancun in the afternoon, end of the tour.
